Healing Through
Creativity
The third in a
series of shows on non-traditional methods for healing
from the debilitating consequences of crime, abuse or
trauma, today’s program focuses on healing through
creativity and the arts. Recorded live at the Healing
Through Creativity Survivor Art Festival, held October
10-19, 2008 at West Virginia State University, trauma
survivors and their supporters came together to share
music, films, poetry, painting and other creative forms.
They also attended workshops on topics such as
Developing Self Esteem, Depression and Bi-Polar Support,
How Teens React to Loss and Guilt, and How to Get
Published and connected with survivors from all over the
world. Crime Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone
interviewed George Robertson, from Healing Through
Creativity, and some of the Workshop Presenters and
invited them to share their stories with you. This is an
inspiring, uplifting show about one of the most powerful
healing forces in the universe.
