Heels: Interview with Linda Fairstein
Before the Devil wore Prada, Hell Wore Heels! "Hell on
Heels" is what defense attorneys used to call Linda
Fairstein, former Chief of the Sex Crimes Prosecution
Unit of the Manhattan District Attorney's office, when
they had to face her in court. Known for her hard-boiled
manner and ability to win seemingly hopeless cases, Ms.
Fairstein spent 30 years prosecuting the likes of Robert
Chambers (the Preppy Murder Case) and the Central Park
Jogger Wolf Pack. She retired in 2002 to become the
best-selling author of a series of eleven crime novels
that resound with authenticity and feature a hard-boiled
prosecutor with a penchant for winning tough cases (what
else!). To kick off Women’s History Month, Crime
Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone interviews Linda
Fairstein about her groundbreaking days as a female
prosecutor and her new book, Lethal Legacy. It’d be a
crime not to listen!
